Daydreams on the Moon

The 5th day of our Palawan Tricity adventure had another transfer from El Nido to Coron, this was via domestic flight, which was a good thing I managed to book from the limited seats as usually there are ferries but that takes at least 3hours and the first departure would only take around noon, wherein the flight took less than an hour to only around 45mins:

Transfers were still managed by our organizer, Trippy Tours and Travel, so we were efficiently picked up via van and dropped off at our accommodation near the port area:

Now since this was considered as our ‘free day’ from our itinerary with Trippy, I already booked our ‘side quest’ in advance as well just a few weeks after smoothing everything over with our main tour:

Here, our ‘side quest’ was more of an extra relaxation day where I saw this place on IG just close to our Palawan vacation. I looked up Paolyn Houseboats, read up on everything and the project itself is very admirable in its sustainability so I just had to experience even at least a stay here:

You could also book a private speedboat tour with them with some select locations that are usually packed with tourists but here, we even had the whole island to ourselves to eat the packed lunch we ordered from the resort!

We first had lunch at Atwayan, then taking a quick swim before we went to some coral gardens to do some snorkeling:

Was hoping to spot some sea turtles but the fishes were good enough 🐠

We made our last stop at Smith Beach to catch the sunset (which I’ve been trying to spot since our sometimes drizzly vacation), had some good beers and the sight was good enough with the low tide:

Having come back to our deck just as nightfall hit, we had enough time to freshen up before the resort’s speedboat service was back to drop us off at their own floating restaurant:
