"Dragon Goes House-Hunting" - Let's Go on this Anime Adventure!

I'm on a roll with these RPG genres, but instead of playing one, we'll be treated to actually watching what goes behind-the-scenes instead. If you're curious as to which anime I'm talking about, it's this one:

In an RPG fantasy world, a red dragon named Letty is disowned by his parents after failing to guard their eggs. Now he has to find a place of his own, but unlike other dragons, Letty is meek, cowardly, and has overall low stats. Regardless, a defenseless young dragon makes for an easy target for those who only see him as a beast to be feared, vanquished, and even devoured. After some time searching for somewhere to call "home," he encounters the elf Dearia, who saves him from a band of heroes. Both an architect and a real estate agent, Dearia offers to help Letty find the perfect abode that suits his needs. Thus ensues Letty's house-hunting quest, as well as all the fantastical creatures and formidable enemies he meets along the way!

I'm sure we've all somehow tried playing an RPG at least once in our lives, and we were mostly given the roles of the protagonists-- may it be a knight, mage or simply an adventurer. So what gives us a refreshing take in this anime is that we'll be seeing this fantasy world through the journey with Letty the Dragon and Dearia the Elf.

So maybe I came here for the comedy I was promised with the premise, but I actually stayed for the world exploration and what other fantasy beings Letty will encounter in each episode, because if it weren't for that, my patience would have been worn thin with Letty being a snivelling wimp of a dragon!

Okay so I get that he's introduced as having barely reached adulthood, but it takes a lot to feel bad for him when he looks full-grown in size and they didn't even make him cartoonishly cute-- though kudos to the animators for making him look fearsome enough that the heroes wouldn't even stop to hear him whimpering in distress.

Also applaud the presence of the cool-headed Dearia who balances the episodes perfectly well with Letty's constant whining, add the fact that he's quite capable of defending our poor dragon from pesky heroes wishing to slay him, Dearia is first and foremost Letty's Real Estate Agent and certified Architect here to help the him find the perfect home (oh, and he's also the Demon Lord too).

My thoughts on this 12-episode anime is that it was a pretty fun journey, though it could do more what with that lackluster ending, but I'm guessing I'd see more of this uncanny duo's adventure in the manga series. It would be nicer to have a season 2 though, as the richness of this world's building is perfectly captured through animation, and I found Dearia's "helpful tips" at every episode's end and the almost human-like technicalities that make up this world to be quite interesting (other than the fact that fantasy beings are required to pay taxes too though). FINAL RATING:
Animation - 5 ⭐
Story Pacing - 4 ⭐
Warnings of Blood / Gore / Death - 2 ⭐ (you'd be surprised how this RPG setting has such cartoonish "deaths")
