This game features you, the player, as having inherited a garden, so you fly over and meet Austin, your butler (yes, the same Austin in Homescapes who just happens to afford the house by the lake).
Upon arriving at your estate, you find that most of the garden is in a state of disaster disrepair, and so as the game's title fortolds, you get to renovate the different areas in your huge garden (with the help of your butler, Austin).
I once played this game before and it proved to be simple enough; to the point where you just renovate the place for the heck of it...
But then it started showing signs of a storyline...
And it all started with Captain Craig:
Though the story of Captain Craig (and his descendants) only come up once in a while, and you're mostly given really rare finds in your garden that has you (and Austin) wanting to discover more about it. Take this place for example, you've a lake in your garden (yes, including the swans), but wait there's more!
And here we find a different theme from your previous gardens:
Circling back to the Captain Craig storyline, here we uncover a stable that once belonged to once of his descendants. It just so happens that Austin's dad wants to deliver a horse to us, so the area soon has a new guest.
From here, we start to stray away from the Craig family storyline and later introduced to a lord's tragic love story about his affair with a circus dancer.
Reaching the last garden area to be restored in this part of your estate, Austin is revved up to celebrate, so this is what he thought of:
Yep! If you thought that was the end of Gardenscapes, well we're in for another surprise...
