Murdered: Soul Suspect - Can You Solve Your Own Death?

I really can't seem to shake off going back to playing games that have an element of death and horror to them huh? Granted, I require a dose of mystery to it and less of heartstopping chase-scenes, Murdered: Soul Suspect really gave me the perfect formula for that!
As you can get from the trailer, we play as Detective Ronan who just so happens to be killed while solving a series of murders, resulting in him becoming a ghost. Which makes you think nothing is impossible now that you can literally sneak pass anyone right? Curiously enough, they've also got rules about this ghostly in-between dimension.
Off shoot how those 7 gunshot wounds reminds me of that 7-spotted ladybug saying I came across from the Bullet Train movie
Also a Disclaimer: That the following screenshots and GIFs are strictly owned by the game's developers and I'm just here to give you a taste on what your getting yourself into once you do decide to give this not-so new game a try.
So like I said that we're starting this game as no better than dead, there's no coma episode, there's literally no going back, especially if you stared at your unalive body for for the last time. Trigger warning: may contain blood
This makes the element of horror for me fortunately bareable as we are part of the ghostly realm, the overall atmosphere to the Town of Salem is dark and gloomy with dashes of ghost residue you can glimpse and hide in when you encounter trouble. Yes 'cuz as a ghost who has no business solving his own murder, of course there's still a form of demonic police out to get you:
Initially hated this parts of the game scattered throughout (along with the tense music that comes with their 'screams'), but ended up living for the moments where I had to exorcise these muthafuckers-- though if you're more a pacifist, you can still work around "some" of them undetected.
Contrary to the demon exorcism, I was hella delighted with the cat possessing abilities this game also has-- and here I thought Stray was the first of its kind, so color me surprised!
You also end up discovering new abilities as a ghost as you go along with the game, which really helps in making you backtrack to some of those hard-to-reach places, 'cuz let me tell you how this game has LOTS of missable collectibles if you don't keep your eyes open or use a guide on the side:
Like how this is hidden behind a fence, initially invisible on the wall...
...and how we've got these total number of clues and collectibles on the side. P.S. mostly loved the Ghost side-stories so try your hand in that!
Though it is a bit glitchy in some parts that don't have your Achievement pop up despite having collected the necessary items, still awed at the way Salem was presented to us as a ghost that intersperses the residue of the past to the present day, which is an interesting concept to build challenges on when moving forward:
A literal Ghost train in a freakin' museum, which has the ability to unalive you more if you're not careful!
Overall, loved the mystery that kept me going with finishing this. Controls-wise, it was easy to understand at best for a noob like me, though I'd consider this game to be relatively short if not for the hundreds of collectibles you have to collect, but storywise you don't really need all of them to move forward. Hoping to finish more from my TPL (to-play-list) so see yah guys on the next review!
