I'm back from a month-long vacation from the Philippines! And what better way to re-immerse oneself than by going on a cultural tour in this museum!

Lakbay meaning to wander

Lakbay Museo comes from the same organization who handles The Dessert Museum which I had the pleasure of going to several years ago, it was just only now have I gotten around to actually visiting this venue when they've already moved from Conrad Hotel by MOA to an Ayala mall near the area. Their type of entry has the similar set up consisting of the usual stairs, or in this case walking thru our Philippine jeepney:

Now, unlike The Dessert Museum having a more thematic per room theme, Lakbay Museo welcomes you with a mix of what is national to us as a country and segmented by the different regions' culture. The first room after sliding in for example features these life-sized replica of a tribal strawhouse beside our nation's fruit of a Philippine mango tree:

Alongside what is known as the perfectly coned-shaped volcano that is Mayon as we walked further and pass the array of Philippine heroes from history:

Another display example of our nation's culture would be the celebratory staple of pancit (a type of noodles as you'll know of them), and interestingly enough the different flavors and choices of food served in one such occasions:

Further into the tour opens to a wide activity area consisting of tables and chairs made for school fieldtrips and a way to also market some souvenirs such as this tasty collection of different flavored vinegars. Of course I just had to buy their taster pack that had these mini bottles:

Our tour went by well and fast and if you'd notice it wasn't really crowded as we did go on a Monday just as they'd opened at around 12NN and the end of the venue had a stage that was obviously meant to mark a fun conclusion to one's museum visit. Seeing as there was just me and my mom, I wasn't really expecting much from that last room, so imagine our surprise when they did end up performing and inviting me along on stage!

Truly unexpected but overall a wonderful and enriching museum that I hope gets appreciated by the younger generation, especially with such dedicated staff who I'd love to thank for pushing thru with such an amazing performance! Until the next adventure, viajeros! xoxo
